What it is
A marrow disorder (JAK2, CALR or MPL mutation) that makes too many platelets, raising the risk of clots and, oddly, bleeding.
Symptoms & signs
- Often none, found on a blood count
- headaches, dizziness, visual flashes
- burning red hands and feet
- clots in legs, brain or heart
- bleeding with very high counts
