Interosseous membrane of forearm
Membrana interossea antebrachii · Mezikostní membrána předloktí
Fascia & connective tissue
Looks like
A strong, thin sheet of fibres stretched between the radius and ulna along most of the forearm.
What it does
Holds the two forearm bones together, passes load from the wrist to the elbow and gives attachment to deep muscles.
Keeping it well
Can tear with a fall on the hand together with a radius fracture; wrist and elbow pain after a fall needs X-rays.
