Inferior extensor retinaculum of ankle

Looks like

A Y-shaped band across the front of the ankle, from the heel bone to the inner ankle and foot.

What it does

Keeps the tendons that lift the foot and toes from bowstringing forward.

Keeping it well

Tight shoes or laces pressing over it can irritate the deep fibular nerve on top of the foot.
