Superior extensor retinaculum of ankle

Looks like

A broad band across the front of the lower leg just above the ankle, from shin bone to fibula.

What it does

Holds the front leg tendons against the bones.

Keeping it well

Rarely a problem; it is part of the ankle's tendon tunnels seen on MRI.
