What it is
Antibodies disable the enzyme ADAMTS13, and huge clotting factors seed tiny clots everywhere — fatal within days without plasma exchange.
Symptoms & signs
- Bruising and pinpoint bleeding
- confusion, headache, stroke-like signs
- tiredness and jaundice
- fever
- dark urine
