Processus axillaris glandulae mammariae · Podpažní výběžek prsu
Reproductive system
Looks like
A strip of breast tissue extending from the upper outer part of the breast towards the armpit.
What it does
Part of the mammary gland, making milk like the rest.
Keeping it well
The upper outer quarter holds the most breast tissue and so gets the most cancers; self-checks and screening must include it. It swells in late pregnancy and can be mistaken for a lump in the armpit.
