Suspensory (Cooper's) ligaments
Ligamenta suspensoria mammaria · Závěsné (Cooperovy) vazy
Fascia & connective tissue
Looks like
Thin fibrous strands running through the breast from the deep tissue over the chest muscle to the skin.
What it does
Support the breast and hold its shape.
Keeping it well
They stretch with age, pregnancy and weight change, causing sagging — not harmful. A tumour can pull on them and dimple the skin, so a new dent or puckering, especially when raising the arms, needs checking.
