Anatom3DExternal auditory canal
Meatus acusticus externus · Zevní zvukovod
Sense organs
Looks like
An S-shaped tube about 2.5 cm long from the outer ear to the eardrum.
What it does
Carries sound to the eardrum; its skin makes wax that cleans itself outward.
Keeping it well
Do not use cotton buds inside; they push wax in. Keeping water out helps prevent swimmer's ear.
