Right lymphatic duct
Ductus lymphaticus dexter · Pravý mízovod
Lymphatic & immune
Looks like
A short lymph vessel, about 1 cm, at the root of the right side of the neck, formed by the lymph trunks of the right arm, right chest and right half of the head and neck.
What it does
Empties that lymph into the blood where the right internal jugular and subclavian veins meet; the thoracic duct drains all the rest of the body on the left.
Keeping it well
Rarely injured; its region explains why a cancer spreading to lymph nodes above the right collarbone usually comes from the chest, and one above the left from the abdomen.
