What it is
The rectum slides out through the anus, mostly in older women after years of straining; it does not heal by itself.
Symptoms & signs
- A lump coming out on straining, sometimes staying out
- mucus and blood
- faecal incontinence
- constipation, feeling of incomplete emptying
- discomfort
