The upper of the two large veins leaving each lung, running from the lung root into the left atrium.
What it does
Returns oxygen-rich blood from the upper lobe (and on the right, the middle lobe) to the heart.
Keeping it well
Its opening in the left atrium is a main source of atrial fibrillation triggers, treated by pulmonary vein isolation.
