Small paired veins in the front of each rib space, running along the lower edge of the ribs.
What it does
Drain the front of the chest wall into the internal thoracic and musculophrenic veins.
Keeping it well
They can bleed when a needle or drain is placed through the chest wall, which is why it goes over the top of a rib.
