Looks like
The small hollow on the thumb side of the back of the wrist, seen when the thumb is stretched out, between the tendons running to the thumb.
What it does
The scaphoid bone lies at its floor and the radial artery crosses it, where a pulse can be felt.
Keeping it well
Tenderness here after a fall on an outstretched hand means a scaphoid fracture until proven otherwise — first X-rays often miss it, and an untreated one can lose its blood supply and collapse.
