Looks like
A cube-shaped bone on the outer side of the midfoot, in front of the heel bone.
What it does
Supports the fourth and fifth metatarsals and forms a groove for the peroneus longus tendon.
Keeping it well
Can be crushed in severe twists ('nutcracker fracture'); outer midfoot pain in dancers may be a stress problem.
