First lumbrical of foot
Musculus lumbricalis primus pedis · První červovitý sval nohy
Muscles
Looks like
A small worm-like muscle in the sole, from the inner side of the long toe flexor tendon to the second toe.
What it does
Bends the second toe at its base joint while keeping its end joints straight.
Keeping it well
Weak foot lumbricals contribute to claw and hammer toes; toe-strengthening exercises may help.
