Left pectoralis minor
Musculus pectoralis minor sinister · Levý malý prsní sval
Muscles
Looks like
A thin triangular muscle beneath the pectoralis major, from the 3rd–5th ribs up to a hook of bone on the front of the shoulder blade.
What it does
Pulls the shoulder blade forward and down, and helps lift the ribs in forced breathing.
Keeping it well
Shortened with slumped posture, it tips the shoulders forward and can press on the arm's nerves; stretching and upper-back strengthening help.
