Left medial cuneiform bone
Os cuneiforme mediale sinistrum · Levá vnitřní kost klínová
Skeleton
Looks like
The largest of the three wedge-shaped midfoot bones, on the inner side, in front of the navicular.
What it does
Supports the big toe metatarsal and the inner arch; anchors the tibialis anterior and peroneus longus tendons.
Keeping it well
The ligament from it to the second metatarsal is the key Lisfranc ligament; midfoot pain and bruising in the sole after a twist needs imaging.
