Right intermediate cuneiform bone
Os cuneiforme intermedium dextrum · Pravá střední kost klínová
Skeleton
Looks like
The smallest of the three wedge-shaped midfoot bones, set back between the other two.
What it does
Supports the second metatarsal, whose base locks into the recess it forms, stiffening the midfoot.
Keeping it well
Involved in Lisfranc midfoot injuries, which are often missed; weight-bearing X-rays help show them.
