Medial head of flexor hallucis brevis
Caput mediale musculi flexoris hallucis brevis · Vnitřní hlava krátkého ohýbače palce nohy
Muscles
Looks like
The inner part of the short big-toe flexor, joining abductor hallucis and holding the inner sesamoid bone.
What it does
Bends the big toe at its base joint; its sesamoid takes weight under the ball of the foot.
Keeping it well
The inner sesamoid is the one that most often hurts or breaks (sesamoiditis); padding and rest usually help.
