Olecranon & bursa
Olecranon et bursa subcutanea olecrani · Okovec a burza
Skeleton
Looks like
The bony point of the elbow, the top end of the ulna, with a thin fluid-filled sac (bursa) over it under the skin.
What it does
Anchors the triceps tendon and takes the pressure of leaning on the elbow.
Keeping it well
Leaning on it swells the bursa into a soft lump; rest usually settles it. A hot, red, painful swelling with fever may be infected.
