Dorsal interossei muscles of foot
Musculi interossei dorsales pedis · Hřbetní mezikostní svaly nohy
Muscles
Looks like
Four small two-headed muscles filling the gaps between the long foot bones.
What it does
Spread the toes apart from the second toe and help bend the base joints.
Keeping it well
Weakness contributes to toe deformities; a nerve between two of them (Morton's neuroma) can hurt at the ball of the foot.
