Inguinal ligament
Ligamentum inguinale · Tříselný vaz
Fascia & connective tissue
Looks like
A tough band running along the groin crease from the front hip bone point to the pubic bone, the rolled lower edge of the external oblique.
What it does
Forms the floor of the groin canal and a bridge under which vessels, nerves and hip muscles pass to the thigh.
Keeping it well
Hernias appear above (inguinal) or below (femoral) it; a painful, hard, stuck groin lump is an emergency.
