A small skin branch leaving the median nerve above the wrist and passing over, not through, the carpal tunnel.
What it does
Brings feeling from the skin of the central palm and thenar area.
Keeping it well
Normal palm sensation in carpal tunnel syndrome is explained by it; can be cut in wrist surgery.
