Submandibular nodes

Several nodes under the lower jaw, next to the submandibular salivary gland.

What it does

Filter lymph from the cheeks, nose, lips, gums, teeth and front of the tongue.

Keeping it well

Swell with tooth abscesses and mouth infections. A hard, fixed node here lasting over three weeks needs checking for mouth cancer.
