Dorsal carpal branch of left radial artery
Ramus carpalis dorsalis arteriae radialis sinistrae · Dorzální karpální větev levé vřetenní tepny
Heart & arteries
Looks like
A small branch crossing the back of the wrist bones from the radial artery, under the extensor tendons.
What it does
Forms the dorsal carpal arch with the ulnar side and feeds the wrist bones and the backs of the fingers.
Keeping it well
Its twigs supply the scaphoid; this weak blood supply is why a broken scaphoid heals slowly and can die off.
