A short trunk, about 1 cm long, leaving the ulnar artery just below the elbow.
What it does
Quickly splits into the anterior and posterior interosseous arteries that run on either side of the membrane between the forearm bones.
Keeping it well
Only a surgical landmark; injury deep in the upper forearm can damage it.
