A small branch leaving the ulnar artery above the wrist and winding round to the back of the wrist.
What it does
Joins the radial side to complete the dorsal carpal arch over the wrist bones.
Keeping it well
Rarely a problem; a backup route that keeps the back of the hand supplied if one forearm artery is cut.
