Inferior lateral genicular artery
Arteria inferior lateralis genus · Dolní zevní kolenní tepna
Heart & arteries
Looks like
A branch of the popliteal artery running round the outer side of the knee, just above the fibula head, under the outer ligament.
What it does
Supplies the outer knee and joins the network of arteries around the kneecap.
Keeping it well
Can bleed after knee surgery, especially work on the outer meniscus; embolisation can stop it.
