One of the two end branches of the deep brachial artery, running with the radial nerve to the outer side of the elbow.
What it does
Joins the radial recurrent artery, forming part of the backup network around the elbow; feeds skin on the outer arm.
Keeping it well
Its back branch carries the lateral arm flap, a patch of skin plastic surgeons move to cover wounds of the hand or face.
