Semimembranosus
Musculus semimembranosus · Poloblanitý sval
Muscles
Looks like
The deepest inner hamstring, with a flat tendon at its top, from the sitting bone to the back of the inner shinbone.
What it does
Bends the knee and straightens the hip; turns the leg inward.
Keeping it well
Its tendon can cause inner knee pain; a Baker's cyst forms nearby.
