Posterior cruciate ligament
Ligamentum cruciatum posterius · Zadní zkřížený vaz
Joints & cartilage
Looks like
A thick band inside the knee, crossing behind the ACL from the front of the thigh bone to the back of the shinbone.
What it does
Stops the shinbone sliding backwards under the thigh bone.
Keeping it well
Torn when the shin hits a dashboard or the ground with the knee bent; many heal with rehabilitation alone.
