Musculus trapezius · Trapézový sval
Muscles
Looks like
A large diamond-shaped muscle from the skull and neck to the mid-back, spreading out to the shoulder blades.
What it does
Shrugs, braces and rotates the shoulder blades and steadies the neck.
Keeping it well
Tension here comes with stress and long hours at a desk; movement breaks and a screen at eye level help. A shoulder that cannot shrug after neck surgery needs review.
