A closed double-layered sac of peritoneum that the testis carried down with it into the scrotum, wrapping its front and sides.
What it does
Lets the testis glide inside the scrotum.
Keeping it well
Fluid collecting in it is a hydrocele — a painless swelling that lights up with a torch; in babies it usually clears by itself, in adults it is drained or removed if it bothers.
