A sac on the inner side of the upper shin, under the joined tendons of three thigh muscles (pes anserinus).
What it does
Lets these tendons glide over the tibia and inner knee ligament.
Keeping it well
Inflamed in runners and in knee arthritis, causing tender pain a few cm below the inner knee joint line.
