Anterior horn of spinal cord
Cornu anterius medullae spinalis · Přední roh míchy
Nervous system
Looks like
The front wings of the butterfly-shaped grey matter of the spinal cord, largest at the neck and lower back.
What it does
Holds the motor nerve cells that fire the skeletal muscles.
Keeping it well
ALS, spinal muscular atrophy and polio kill these cells. Weakness with muscle wasting and twitching needs a neurologist.
