Cuneometatarsal interosseous ligaments
Ligamenta cuneometatarsalia interossea · Mezikostní klínově-nártní vazy
Joints & cartilage
Looks like
Strong short fibres between the cuneiforms and the bases of the long foot bones; the inner one is the Lisfranc ligament.
What it does
Lock the midfoot to the forefoot; the Lisfranc ligament holds the second metatarsal in its keystone slot.
Keeping it well
Lisfranc injuries are easily missed: midfoot pain and sole bruising after a twist need weight-bearing X-rays or CT.
