Deep transverse metatarsal ligament
Ligamentum metatarsale transversum profundum · Hluboký příčný nártní vaz
Joints & cartilage
Looks like
Short bands joining the ball-of-the-foot joints of all five toes side by side.
What it does
Hold the metatarsal heads together so the forefoot does not splay.
Keeping it well
The toe nerves pass just under it; pressure there causes Morton's neuroma, a burning pain between the toes.
