The lower group of deep nodes along the internal jugular vein, below where the omohyoid muscle crosses it.
What it does
Receive lymph from higher neck nodes, the back of the scalp and part of the arm and chest, and pass it on to the jugular trunk.
Keeping it well
Cancer of the throat, thyroid, lungs or breast can spread here. A firm lump low in the neck deserves a doctor's check.
