A thin sheet at the back of each rib gap, near the spine, where the inner intercostal muscle gives way to membrane.
What it does
Closes the rear part of the rib gap between the muscle layers.
Keeping it well
A landmark for nerve blocks near the spine (paravertebral block), which sit just deep to it.
