Lateral axillary nodes

Looks like

Lymph nodes along the outer wall of the armpit, beside the axillary vein.

What it does

Filter most of the lymph from the arm before it passes on toward the central and apical nodes.

Keeping it well

Swell with hand and arm infections; removing them in surgery raises the risk of arm swelling (lymphoedema).
