A skin branch of the tibial nerve running down the middle of the back of the calf between the two heads of gastrocnemius.
What it does
Joins the fibular communicating branch to form the sural nerve; brings feeling from the back of the calf.
Keeping it well
Rarely injured alone; relevant in calf surgery and sural nerve biopsy.
