A small cone-shaped muscle in the chin, running from the jawbone below the lower front teeth into the skin of the chin.
What it does
Raises and wrinkles the chin skin and pushes the lower lip up and out, as in pouting or doubt.
Keeping it well
Overactive in some people with lip strain over protruding teeth, giving a dimpled chin. It is usually a cosmetic, not a medical, issue.
