Plantar calcaneonavicular ligament
Ligamentum calcaneonaviculare plantare · Chodidlový patně-loďkovitý vaz
Joints & cartilage
Looks like
The spring ligament: a thick band in the sole from the heel bone's shelf to the navicular, cradling the head of the talus.
What it does
Holds up the head of the talus and the inner arch of the foot.
Keeping it well
Stretches or tears in adult flatfoot, often with failure of the tibialis posterior tendon. A collapsing arch needs early assessment.
