The deep back part of the inner ankle (deltoid) ligament, from the inner ankle bone to the back of the talus.
What it does
The strongest part of the deltoid ligament; stops the foot rolling outward.
Keeping it well
Torn in severe ankle fractures and dislocations; its tear makes the ankle unstable.
