The wrist joint proper: the lower end of the radius and the TFCC above, the scaphoid, lunate and triquetrum below.

What it does

Lets the hand bend up, down and side to side.

Keeping it well

Distal radius fractures from falls on the outstretched hand are very common. Snuffbox tenderness suggests a scaphoid fracture.
