Subtendinous calcaneal bursa

A sac between the Achilles tendon and the upper back of the heel bone (retrocalcaneal bursa).

What it does

Lets the tendon glide over the heel bone as the foot moves.

Keeping it well

Inflamed with Haglund's bump and Achilles problems, causing pain just above the heel. Treated with footwear and load changes.
