A thin, variable sheet of muscle on the side of the head above the ear, between the forehead muscle and the ear muscles.
What it does
Tightens the scalp at the side of the head and may help lift the ear slightly.
Keeping it well
Has little practical importance; tension-type headache felt here is common and usually eases with sleep, activity and simple pain relief.
