Left trapezoid
Os trapezoideum sinistrum · Levá kost trapézovitá (mnohohranná menší)
Skeleton
Looks like
A small wedge-shaped wrist bone in the far row, between the trapezium and capitate, at the base of the index finger.
What it does
Supports the second metacarpal and locks the far carpal row together.
Keeping it well
The least often broken carpal bone because it is well protected; arthritis around it can cause pain at the base of the index finger.
