Left tibia
Tibia sinistra · Levá kost holenní
Skeleton
Looks like
The shin bone: the large inner bone of the lower leg, its front edge felt just under the skin.
What it does
Carries almost all of the body weight from the knee to the ankle.
Keeping it well
Its shaft is the long bone most often broken with an open wound. Pain on the inner shin in runners may be a stress fracture.
