Arteria tibialis posterior sinistra · Levá zadní holenní tepna
Heart & arteries
Looks like
An artery running down the back of the lower leg under the calf muscles; its pulse is felt behind the inner ankle bone.
What it does
Supplies the calf and the whole sole of the foot through the plantar arteries.
Keeping it well
Checked with the dorsalis pedis pulse to judge foot circulation; weak pulses with foot sores or rest pain need a vascular assessment.
